start car switch off ignition egine still runs . step on brake ,engine stops ,,,,brake lights still on ..
remove fuses from drivers fuse box ..lights still on .. remove relays still on rear wiper not working also
remove both rear tail light assemblies .. center brake light still on . remove brake switch under dash
test with mmeter open circuit closed when plunger depressed disconnect rear black module ...........still on
checked all fuses in all 4 locations ..k4 area drivers engine side . drivers inside box and under back seat
and yep test fuse 2 (did all) for brakelight and see if getting power at holder ..no thing

I have a W212 which is all LED, so not entirely familiar with W210.

But: You would not have installed a dual brake/tail light globe wrongly in its socket? That can give some weird behaviour.

Other than that: could it be there is some biodegradable wiring in the mix?

W210
Tail light assemblies - all the bulbs are subject to the screw in holders corroding.
Every now and then need to remove the bulb assemblies clean them up, make sure tag tensions are Ok and re install.
