Has anyone seen this before ?
The guy who owns the car (230CE) imported it from the UK to MY and is about to have it seized by the authorities cause they think it is stolen. The engine number matches the uncrossed out VIN number and I seem to recall see'ing MB stamp out VINs before.

Same here, seen it a few times. As a criminal, you would have to be rather stupid to do it that way.

I saw this recently on an early R107 at a club meet. Funny thing was the number that was crossed out was the same as the new one stamped after.
