I've been randomly checking these out, but I'm getting mixed messages doing research.
I notice that all w220's have the headlight washer cover which normally to me indicates that a vehicle has xenons, but most people are saying that most w220's don't have xenons as standard. Was there any models or years where xenon's were standard ?
Cheers,
Aleks
Did any W220's come with standard with xenons ?

Re: Did any W220's come with standard with xenons ?
Hi,
according to a price list I have from 2002 (Germany!, dito in 2005), the lights washers were standard except S320/S320CDI. The xenon lights however were only standard with the S600, all others extra. Could have been different in Oz ...
Regards

Nah that would make sense. I checked a couple of vins and none had xenons. What tight arses, the 7 series and a8 of the time were spec'r much more generously.

Well,
that's a matter of your point of view. Those Xenons at the time were pretty expensive and - as far as I remember - quite often kaputt, so changing them was expensive too. That's imho the general risk of buying such an old car: how long will you get spare parts for it? Old command system more or less useless, etc.
I had bi-xenons in my 2008 AMG; they lasted the 10 years and 245,000kms ... it's like this "standard leather" in all more expensive cars. I would have paid extra, if I could have had cloth or velours in my W222

Might just wait and get a W221, I can't believe how long MB didn't even offer bluetooth audio streaming.T-Modell wrote: ↑Sat 29 Oct, 2022 4:00 pm Well,

A late contribution to this thread. My recently traded w220 430 2005 model came with Xenons.
Also for what it is worth it proved to be a great car despite the somewhat negative reactions of some followers of the marque.
I suspect that a lot of the early problems had been sorted by then.
