G'day
I want to take my pushbike up to Queensland when the borders open up later this year and rather than pulling the wheels off and jamming it in the boot I would rather have it ready to ride.
I haven't looked for either roof racks or tow bar yet, but I would love to hear from anyone that has fitted either to a 280S. Mine is a 1972 model.
Thanks for any thoughts or leads on where to look for roof racks or tow bar. I know I can Goggle, but I thought I might get better info on here.
Cheers
Scott

Re: Roof racks or tow bar
My W108 came with a tow bar (but no ball). I have removed it. In principle you could borrow it for free, but Canberra is a long way away - but I do come up to Sydney sometimes.
I also have roof racks which I purchased 2nd had from the forum sponsor. They are of the kind that clamp to the chrome strip on the roof, and work fine. I have transported two Hobie kayaks (and they are heavy) no problems, as well as a desk, so it certainly is possible.

Re: Roof racks or tow bar
G’day David
Thanks for the offer mate. I had an idea this morning of a place near me I have seen some old Mercs and I might pop down there and see if he has a second hand one for sale.
If I put a tow bar on I would probably want to leave it there.
Thanks again though.

Re: Roof racks or tow bar
Checking out wreckers for a towbar would be the first best and cheapest option.
I've had only good experience with Hayman Reese made towbars, they will set you back over $600 fitted though.
