DIY Bosch fuel distributor rebuild and EHA valve adjustment

Post by Omar » Tue 13 Aug, 2019 1:39 am

I had a go at rebuilding one of my Bosch fuel distributors some time ago by following the instructions at the following link:

https://cis-jetronic.com/public_doc/07.3-0997-06.pdf

I found it quite easy and it’s cheaper than buying one that has been rebuilt by someone else. It works out even cheaper if you want to rebuild more than one because I highly recommend using the tools at the following link to help align the fuel distributor when reassembling it:

Rebuild kits can be purchased at the following links:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/0438101018- ... Swk5FUtZZ-

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bosch-Fuel- ... SwH09ZKeZu

The postage cost for the parts sold by cis-jetronic is a bit high, but, if I remember correctly, they combine shipping so it works out cheaper to buy the kit and the tools from them, rather than buying the rebuild kit from the other seller (salvox954) and the tools from cis-jetronics.

I soaked the parts in turpentine overnight and used an old toothbrush to scrub them. And, I used a cheap digital tyre depth gauge, such as the one at the link below, to measure the depth the jets and the initial nut control plunger position.

If you want to adjust your EHA valve, and have access to a fuel pressure gauge kit, you should find the video at the following link helpful:
