Part number needed - throttle connecting rod

Post by MajorBenz » Thu 27 Jun, 2019 11:19 am

I had a mishap whilst playing with my carbs:
Idle speed arm BROKEN.jpg
(Zenith 35/40 INAT) The end of the connecting rod snapped.

I'm going to try and get a replacement from MB, does anyone know the part number?
And while we're on the subject, is there some kind of parts directory with all the parts numbers available for w108s?
I could really use one.
Help much appreciated. Won't be going far without this bit. :(

It's the one that goes between the throttle lever and the actuating lever, as seen here:

Think your best option might be to call someone who has a few of these broken carbs on the shelf, like Mercmad.

Or contact a carburetor specialist in town. More likely to find something there than at Mercedes.

Thanks Bart - I shall contact Mercmad.
MB in South Melbourne were helpful, and we found it in the parts directory, but they have 0 in stock worldwide.

Another guy you can try is Scottyx. He has got a 280S as well and replaced his carbs with Weber's

It shows on the EPC, but without a part number, so presumably not a part Mercedes sells. You could try this guy. He might have a parts carbie,

'72 Ranchero GT, Subaru SVX x 4, Subaru Vortex, DKW F89P, DKW 3=6, Skoda Octavia Super, Skoda Felicia Cabrio,
and the odd Porsche, Holden, Tatra, Buick............

If you are a member of a Mercedes=Benz club, you will (eventually) get access to it. In my case, I have a paid version, but you need a European address to gain access - for now. There are older versions available on eBay.

I am a member of the Victorian club, but I don't think we have member access. I will get on to them.
In the meantime, I did a search for "Mercedes Benz EPS" and there seem to be some free access versions online.
