Rust repair sections on Ebay from Poland

Post by Shoudaboughtacoupe1965 » Tue 11 Jun, 2019 11:14 am

Hi,
I recently found an Ebay seller from Poland offering finnie rust repair panels/sections... any thoughts? I need a driver's side outer sill given that mine is full of holes!

They look ok, but hard to judge without comparing to the original.

I bought some years ago from DBdepot, which were non original but fitted very well. They are the same for W110/111 and 112 4 DOORS.

Mercmad ended up welding them into a W112 Lang...

I paid about 140 aud each for them at that time.

I just checked and Andreas (DBdepot) does not have them on his site anymore.

Id be showing that ebay sill pic or taking the car to to my local sheetmetal shop...theres nothing Hitech about those folds..and getting one made up
Under $25 in material cost for a sill and less than half an hour in labour.

I disagree. If it was that easy, Ron would not have been that happy with these sills.

There are some flowing lines in it that are hard to replicate without a press mold.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. The price seems reasonable compared to some of the genuine NOS that occasionally pops up on eBay. But perhaps a local sheet metal workshop might be an option!
