Hello W114 / W115 aficionados,
This is my first foray into your area as I am a W123 owner, but I have to say I prefer the W114 styling.
I'm looking at converting my W123 300D (1976) auto to manual and was wondering if anyone knows whether a 1968 4-speed from an OM615 2.2L 4 cylinder would bolt up to my OM617.
Similarly, is the pedal box and associated infrastructure likely to transfer across easily from the W115 to W123 chassis?
Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Re: Interchangeability of W115 220D 4-speed manual into W123 300D
Hello, the W114/115 manual box was the same as what was used on early W123's. From memory up to 1979. After that MB went to a Getrag box.
The pedal box and everything else will not swap over. Totally differant under the dash. If you want to do a conversion, you need to find a rusted out W123 with a manual box as you will be surprised just how many little bit you will need to do the conversion. If you have a wreck with all the parts on it, the process is relatively simple.
Also don;t forget that the OM617 is an externally balanced engine.
