Spare key where to buy please

Post by Scottyx » Thu 06 Dec, 2018 7:32 pm

Hi there

I usually leave the key in the ignition, but decided to take it out for the first time tonight which got me thinking I better not loose this as it's the only one I have.

Before it possibly becomes harder than it needs to be I reckon I should get a spare key before too long.

Do you just go to a lock smith or is there an online supplier?

Thanks for your time
Scott

It depends what model/year.
Early Benz keys are able to be cut at the local locksmith for a few bucks.
Later ones need to be ordered from the stealership for several hundred dollars.

Yes locksmith is an option for your model but be warned it may be difficult to find a blank. I'm having trouble finding a blank for my W116 450SEL and I checked my supplier from when I was in the locksmith industry with no luck so far. I don't think John has a data card as mine is a UK imported car.
