Idle control valve breather hoses

Post by dennisr » Mon 26 Nov, 2018 11:11 am

Rough Idle, hard to start, konks out at intersections, on cornering, scary!! Thought it was a fuel problem as I have replaced the idle control valve and the 2 hoses connected to it.
Thought Oh No!! big dollars needed to buy fuel pressure regulator, or the accumulator...or the 2 pumps...and a fuel filter...
It's my son's car.
I woke up this morning thinking, I wonder if the breather hose on the right side of IDLE CONTROL VALVE was not connected properly as it was hard to put in when I bought a new one a month ago.
Upon taking the air cleaner off and looking at that hose it was fine....
But it was the other one...the one that the cold start injector fits into!
I bought it new on ebay(idiot) from "partscontainer" in September 2018 -The add said OEM...not likeley!!
Already split past the end of the Idle control valve!!
I am posting this to warn any newbs about these cheap ebay parts...seems to be inferior rubber or something.

Made in Germany.
It's a standard Mann HU718 for a M112.

Ebay ones are Made in China but 30% less price.

There is cheap eBay parts and then there are cheap eBay parts. The trick is to buy from a reliable source who uses Original Equipment Manufacturer brands.

I am expecting a shipment of ICV hoses by Meyle from Germany in a couple of weeks.
TXT or call me on 0412550020 if you want me to put a pair of hoses (inlet and outlet) aside for you.
