Rear leveling struts NLA

Post by bahnstormer109 » Wed 07 Nov, 2018 8:45 am

Gday

I have been told by suppliers that the hydraulic rear leveling suspension struts for the likes of 123, 124, 116, 126 and wagons are no longer made by Sachs and will not be available at all anymore.

Does anyone know of any other brands or companies making these?

Is the future for these cars going to be taking out the sls and replacing with standard shocks and springs?

Cheers,
Paolo

That's a good point. I understood that for some time the ball joint at the base hasn't been available. So many cars had them its a bit of a shock (no pun intended) that they would stop making them. I guess they are all getting old and proportionately its a smaller and smaller market needing them. I know you can send your bilsteins to Sydney shocks and they will rebuild them and even change the valving if you want, so wander if they can fix them?

I just had an SLS rear strut replaced in my W126 300SE and it was replaced with a Sachs.
