E220 vs C220 wiring harness

Post by BarringtonBrown » Wed 31 Oct, 2018 5:04 pm

My new E220T is in need of a new engine wiring harness, should one from the W202 C220 fit?

Ideally I'm trying to source any E220 loom that I can repair off the car and then reinstall, instead of paying 600 euro for a new one.

It runs great until the drip tray under the windscreen leaks into the [probably cracked] ECU cable :cussing:

There was a man who fixes MB wiring harnesses based in Sydney.
I've been trying to locate his website but not having much luck

Google around.

Meanwhile, I don't think E class and C class harnesses are compatible.

What's worse. I've fixed two. Both were W202's. Both C200's. Both were different.

If you are doing the engine harness it's probably a good bet that the throttle body harness is cactus as well :dontknow:

The better news. It's generally the coil wiring which is the offender.

I think most of the engine bay wiring is cactus and there's only so much WD40 I can keep spraying into the engine bay!

I'll search for the Sydney guy. My aircon isn't working and all the brown cables to the aircon relay have melted and fused together so hopefully a new loom would have that working too...

The car drives like a dream otherwise :king:
