Rotary dial on top of dash- What does it do?

Post by PeteGong » Sun 14 Oct, 2018 9:55 am

Does anyone know what the function of this rotary dial is? It seems to be part of the Parktronic system but the owners manual is completely silent on it.......AFAICR

Might be the fader dial... ie controls sound balance between front and rear speakers.

Only think that as it seems to be on top of what appears to be a speaker.

It is a visual sensor for the parking sensors on your bumper bar.

Command system. I *think* the rotary dial adjusts the sensitivity of the parking sensors but there is no mention of it. I will look in the Command manual

So. Checked the 2006 CLK280 which has this same wheel.
It alters the air flow to the windscreen - very obvious.
If your wheel doesn’t make any difference to the airflow - well, then, you have a problem.
