Hi everyone
I am currently restoring a 1972 280ce and was thinking of converting to a 5 speed manual transmission. I dont think there were many if any 5 speed manual w114s in Australia. So does anyone know what other model transmission would be the easiest to fit into a W114.?
Thanks in adavance.

Yes there were, read my signature.
Look up Neill Gregory on facebook, He said to me the other day that he has a 5 speed transmission, I think from a W114.

Hi Lance
Thank you, I spoke to him and it’s a 4 speed.

Use that then you won't find a 5 speed.

Something like this should bolt up to your M110 but you would have to find Flywheel, rear cross member, shifter, pedal box, clutch slave and shortened tailshaft

Re: Automatic to manual conversion
I got the 5 speed from G wagon as well, great transmission, but sadly, the speedo output is on the transfer box rather than the gearbox on the 4wd's so even though it's a straight bolt on, you will have no speedo...
double check though. but it something to be mindful of...
also, get the 4 speed.... you will never find a 5 speed....
get the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, pedal box, shifter ect: preferably all off of a 1 doner car...
