Ball joints for 6.9 / W126 hydropneumatic

Post by T-Modell »

Hi down under,

you might remember Stefan 6.9 (the guy with the 450SLC 6.9) who helped me a lot and is quite known in the 6.9 scene. He was mentioned a few times in my pickup post.

He has produced some ball joints for the 6.9 and the W126 with hydropneumatic suspension for the rear axle. Not available with Mercedes, limited reproduction in Europe. He produces them himself and sends them worldwide. He wants 350 EUR per piece for it; the front ones are still available and MB asks for 450 EUR. I'm posting this for him; maybe there's some interest in Oz.

Best regards
Thomas

Thanks Thomas - what are his best contact details? We have 6.9ers here but I think the centre of the Oz 6.9ers is the W116 forum - well at least it used to be. International forum but when i had a W116, that's where most of the action was. There was a splinter forum after some 'issues' but with good people called topklasse I think it was. He may know that or I think i can remember my login and could put it on W116 - or if any other members see this they could. I will tell my mate who runs a 'home for lost 6.9s' in Adelaide.

Hi Craig and Kim,

thanks for your replies; afaik he produces them once and when they're sold, they're sold. As he is one of the top 6.9 experts, he has quite some customer cars to restore or repair.

Best regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas I'd also like to contact Stefan since I wanted to pick his brain re a couple of his projects. Could you send me his contact details via PM, or ask him to contact me?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like the ball joints depicted are 6.9/W126 S1 rears and won't suit the W126 S2.

Yep, that's correct. S1 is identical to the 6.9.

@Mark: I've sent you the contact data via Email.
