How to disassembly zenith carbs?
Hello, I need to rebuild the zenith carbs of my w111, but I have problems to disassembly them.
Do you know if is it necessary to disassembly the manifolds before? the carbs nuts are very difficult to access and I think is needed to disassembly manifolds.

To remove the carb's you need to remove the rocker cover. This gives you access to the inner nuts. They are all a PITA to get too, but it is possible to do.

Very True about the pain in the ARSE butJohn Green wrote: ↑Mon 06 Aug, 2018 12:26 pmTo remove the carb's you need to remove the rocker cover. This gives you access to the inner nuts. They are all a PITA to get too, but it is possible to do.
after getting the valve cover out of the way take a CHEAP 12 MM wrench preferably a box end and heat it up and bend it to access the nuts closest to head makes it almost a breeze.

Maybe using this tool can remove the inner nuts and no need to bend the wrenchHenry Schuman wrote: ↑Mon 06 Aug, 2018 1:51 pmVery True about the pain in the ARSE butJohn Green wrote: ↑Mon 06 Aug, 2018 12:26 pmTo remove the carb's you need to remove the rocker cover. No, unfortunately access is too tight to even get a standard ring spanner over the nuts.

Re: How to disassembly zenith carbs?
Yepper that's a neat tool however won't even get close to those nuts unless the manifold is off the Head.
I will try and find my old handmade wrench and take a pick and post in tomorrow.

Re: How to disassembly zenith carbs?
Well I started working and sometimes repairing Mercedes in 1967 and bent that wrench in @ 1971.
I THINK it was originally a Valve adjustment Wrench for a Subaru
.
Check the part number on it or Google it and maybe you will find one ?>?
