W123 roadworthy

Post by WJB » Fri 06 Jul, 2018 12:38 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to purchase W123 230E, post 1980. I may go down the track of purchasing an unregistered car so would greatly appreciate any recommendations of a reliable mechanic to conduct the roadworthy.

I'm in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Many thanks.

Good luck with the purchase, get the right one and you wont regret it.

Take it to Alan Lennox for a PPI, he will tell you every thing that needs attention.

Thanks for the responses. There are a few cars advertised at the moment but none that quite fit the bill. I have discovered the W123 page on facebook which puts up some inspiring posts.

Could you clarify what PPI is and Allen's details?

Thanks!

PPI
Pre Purchase Inspection

Alan went through the wagon we use daily, like a dose of salts; and pointed out every item that needed attention (RWC related or not). Some I knew about, some I should have known about and some I would never have guessed. He didn't mind if I fixed them or he did, and now that John G doesn't sell parts, I bought some spare parts for the DIY bits.
