Replacing timing chain while cylinder head off

Post by Dweezil » Thu 10 May, 2018 7:54 am

Hi team,

I happen to have Jurgen's om617 cylinder head off and need to replace the timing chain.

I've got the factory crimping tool, so I'm just wondering if it's easier to do the whole process while it's headless, so to speak. And yes, I know that I'll have to mark the new chain in the same way that I marked the old chain in relation to the cam sprocket.

Thanks

Dweezil
