Davide Frada Benefit Cruise - Saturday 18th February 6pm

Post by pastelgrey300D »

Hello all, following on from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23347

See below for details on the fundraising benefit cruise for Davide:
Frada Benefit Poster 1 2017.01.17 for facebook.jpg
In addition to the cruise, we are accepting donations for raffle prizes and for an online auction we will be running on ebay during February. If you have any items you would like to donate please email us at: fradabenefit@gmail.com

As mentioned the MB Club of SA will be covering all running/administrative costs for the event, every cent received will be given to Davide.

The club will be holding a BBQ on the night of the cruise as well, plus there will be a raffle (prizes TBA shortly) - tickets will be $10.

If you are on facebook, please share the hell out of the page: https://www.facebook.com/fradabenefit/

And be sure to tell your friends - absolutely anyone is welcome in any car - please show your support for Davide by coming along, donating and/or spreading the word.

Davide is a founding member of the Ozbenz forum and an all-round top bloke, he deserves our full support!

Any questions please PM me or email fradabenefit@gmail.com

See you all on the 18th!

Just hours after launching the facebook site and we already have $150 in donations!

Thanks to Alex Gabard and our very own Bartman for kicking off what I hope will be a very successful fundraiser for Davide.

You absolute legends! :wav:

Glad to see the community rally around Davide at this time. I've known him for years and was gutted for him when I heard this news.

Sending out a whole bunch of press releases and letters to other local clubs today, so hopefully the word will start spreading fairly rapidly!

Press releases to local press? Just thought of that as had interview with Messenger on some environmental stuff this week. But of course lots now online - can you put a comment/link attached to existing articles like Adelaide now?

Looking forward to this, not just helping Davide but in a selfish way meeting up with lots of people! I don't get out much these days!

I plan to take the blue AMG - reminds me of shortly after i got it, showing it to Davide and he got this really concerned look on his face as i drove up and he said, you really got to look at those lifters.... and then gave him relief as i told him about the solid lifters!

Thankyou everyone for your continuing support! (Thanks to Phil for another generous donation of $100 that has just rolled in!) Last week I dropped off an envelope with $1300 to Davide's folks in McLaren Vale - the first of many.

Only a few days to the big cruise, thanks to a fantastic local winery and craft business we have some amazing raffle prizes up for grabs! If you can't make it to the cruise and would still like to buy a raffle ticket please email me at fradabenefit@gmail.com

The first of our ebay auctions are now live. We have a couple owners manuals and a complete LPG system starting at just $99. We will be listing more things as they come, Davide has access to the account so will probably listing some complete cars and parts on there too - be sure to add the account to your favorite sellers!

Thanks Pastel - was a great night. Best bit was seeing high spirits and a philosophical outlook in Davide... can't keep a good man down! But I am sure this benefit that you were instrumental in making happen played its part.

One gem of the evening was an old lady coming up to Davide and asking "you don't remember me do you" - She showed him this beautiful cared for 124 wagon that he had sold her some time ago - was their first Benz and they loved it and clearly cherished it. She had seen the event advertised and came along to support.

Looks like a great night, shame I couldn't make it.
Great photos of some beautiful machines!
I am assuming your wide body Craig?

Looks wide because it is low! - but just an average width AMG!

Had to read that twice average width but by all accounts your AMG is anything but agerage! Those photos are testiment to that.

So you did turn up Craig. I must have left before you got there. Oh well there will be other times.

We had a lovely time chatting to some other enthusiasts but couldn't stay for the run to McLaren Vale.

Well done by those who organised the event.

I think we were there by 6.30 but held off a bit knowing i had my 10 and 12 yos and I am careful not to bore them too much and have them want to avoid all car events! I see Dkubus Mike is indicating on facebook he is going to Blackwood coffee and cars tomorrow so might head up and catch up with him. I got there 7.45 a month ago and all parks there and in the RSL full including most of the roadside within any vicinity of the place! Might aim to leave home at 7 and get there 7.15 or so.
