Intake manifold vacuum lines

Post by gazman » Fri 13 Jan, 2017 1:57 pm

Finally found the time to replace all the rubber intake bits. If it was rubber and in the valley I changed it, a few scary moments with manifold to head bolts that were locked up but a few sharp blows with the hammer some CRC and patience won the day. One slight problem. . . . degreaser removes paint pen. So all my markings of vac line placement disappeared when I cleaned the manifold :banghead: Did'nt help that it was 6 weeks between strip and fit Now I think I've got it right but would like to confirm. Thick black line white stripe - top of manifold. Clear line EZL - throttle body bottom half of manifold. Clear line red/black stripe - 2 port switch top of manifold, other port - throttle body bottom half of manifold. Any and all input thankfully received.

Thanks for the reply Dr Diesel.

It's a 1984 280SE (W126) so that's the M110.987

Thanks in advance for the help

My EGR Valve has two vacuum lines attached as well as the large metal pipe.... Definitely differs from the diagram.

Although probably deserving of a fresh topic, I'm not sure how "cool" everyone on the foru would be with it so I'll start here as it directly relates...

Theoretically, how would one go about carrying out an "EGR Delete" and what would the options for rerouting the vacuum lines in order to bypass the Auxiliary Air Pump & EGR Valve?

If this is either a really bad idea or highly illegal, that's fine, pleaser let me know. As of right now, it's just a thought.
