MB Club SA 40th Birthday Cruise / Display Day 12th July

Post by pastelgrey300D »

In June/July of this year the SA club is turning 40! To celebrate a weekend of events is planned, with a Cruise/Convoy Run and public display planned for Saturday 12th July. Any Mercedes enthusiasts and owners are welcome to come and join us and bring their Mercedes as well!

Here is the programme for the day:

12:00pm - Meet at the carpark of Mick O'Sheas Irish Pub, Main south Road Hackham. From 12:15pm we will drive in convoy to Goolwa. We will have a photographer (Darren from Awesome Photography aka number2 190 here on ozbenz) along the route who will be taking photos of each car as they pass!

Once we arrive in Goolwa, we have booked the wharf reserve to park cars for a display/show and shine until 4pm.

Will be a great chance to give your car a good run and join all the other Mercs on display! So please join us and spread the word among your fellow MB enthusiasts!

Once again absolutely anyone is welcome to come along and join in, you don't need to be a club member - the only condition is your car must be an MB!

Looks like the weather is going to be kind to us, kind of amazing considering all the wet weather we've had in Adelaide the past month - who plans a club run in July anyway? :laughing6:

Look forward to seeing those of you who can make it tomorrow!

Rough outline of the drive to Goolwa. I've never actually driven this way so will be a new experience!

We had an excellent turnout of over 50 cars for the convoy cruise - We will have to do something like this more often as I thought it was very impressive - I was in the middle of the pack and there was nothing but a line of mercs as far as the eye could see in front of me and in the rear view mirror. Apologies to anyone else who was trying to drive down the main street of Goolwa at 2pm on Saturday as we choked it up for a good 5-10 minutes while everyone was lining up to park at the wharf.

There were a few light showers in the morning but as we neared goolwa the clouds parted and we had a beautiful sunny afternoon for the display afternoon. The variety of cars was also excellent - lots of cars from every decade from the 50s right up to plenty of new ones.

If you have any photos, please post them to the club facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/MercedesBenzCl ... straliaInc

Once we receive the (hundreds of) photos that our official photographer took I will post them up as well.
