Eurofest 2012 - Dec 2
Just thought I'd pop this up. Would love to see more Mercs there this year as they were seriously under represented last year but it was a tremendous little show.
I have no affilliation with the organisers but I will have a trade display there with my 230TE and my BMW 2002 as well.

Re: Eurofest 2012 - Dec 3
You beat me to it! Merc Club of SA will also be attending this as an official event - we had been invited last year but with all the preparation for the national rally (and other poo-poo at the time) the invite wasn't passed on and I don't think many club people even realised it was happening.
Becuase this falls on the first Sunday of the month the regular informal cruise will be held as a convoy run up to the event. We will be cruising through the hills and aiming to arrive at the motor museum when gates open at 11:30am. Everyone is welcome to join us for the cruise! Meet in the Carpark of the Burnside town hall carpark (cnr Portrush Rd & Greenhill Rd) for a 10:00am departure.

Sorry....fixed. You are quite right, Dec 3 is a Monday and consequently the show is on Dec 2......which is in fact, a Sunday.

This is getting closer! Sent my entry in today, I'll be taking the Red car.
As above if anyone wants to join the Merc Club cruise, we'll depart at 10:00 and head straight there (I notice on the BMWDC website it says that vehicle entry is from 9:00am onwards). Should be a good day!

Looks like the gods will be kind to us as it is forecast to be 24 and sunny - much better than the 39 we had on Thursday!
For those of you who are going, come and say hi - I'll be in the red Finnie (sans moustache though!)

Re: Eurofest 2012 - Dec 2
What a great day! See the link below for photos of the cars that showed up:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 755&type=1 (scroll down and wait for pics to load)
There were an absolute bucketload of bimmers, but the good news is that the 3 pointed star was the next most well represented marque. There were 15 there (would have been 16 but the poor 170 decided not to start due to a dodgy fuel pump so it spent the day at the burnside town hall carpark!).
There was a good age mix of cars - from a 300S coupe and my 190c to several late model convertibles. 2 x R129 SL roadsters, 2 x 450SELs (one of which was a 6.9) and from ozbenz we had New123's English Red W123 and Number2190s W124 230TE.
However it was the oldest MB there that quite literally stole the show - the 300S ended up winning:
- Best German (which I'm sure would have pissed off the BMW crowd no end!)
- Best Engine Bay
- Best Pre 1979 era
and the big trophy - 'King of Eurofest'
Well done to John for doing the 3-point star proud!
The day was absolutely perfect, no rain and great to sit around in the shade talking to other like minded folks. Definitely one to pencil into your calendar for next year! Big ups to the BMWDCSA for organising and running a great day.
