Hoping the brains trust can assist in tackling my woes regarding replacing the Drive Authorization System (DAS).
The car in question is a W210 E300TD 1997.
It came with no keys. To make matters worse, I damaged the ECM (Engine Control Module) whilst experimenting modifying it with a CR1 IMMO emulator.
Need to get the car started!
I found a few UK eBay sellers offering various used DAS bundles (all have been mated with each other) i.e. ECM with fob key and EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch). Some come with ESL (Electronic Steering Lock) and door locks, some don’t.
I believe the car uses a DAS-3 system.
My understanding is I need at a minimum:
-ECM
-EIS with fob key
-ESL
Does anyone know of any other component(s) that make up the W210 DAS? Perhaps IR door locks or gearbox ecu?
Thanks

Presuming that you are the legitimate owner of the car, why don't you go to the MB stealership and order a new key?

Perhaps I should of initially, but I have a tendency to take the unconventional path (and learn a few things along the way)...John Green wrote: ↑Fri 02 Mar, 2018 10:05 pm why don't you go to the MB stealership and order a new key?
The key is really secondary to the fact that I have damaged the ECM.
John, as you imply, the "stealership" is not going to be cheap. It will be uneconomical purchasing a new FOB key and ECM from them.
