W111 body panels

Post by Evan » Wed 23 May, 2018 5:15 pm

Hi all,

I'm on the hunt for a couple of W111 Sedan body panels if any has or knows of any?

Factory part numbers are:

111 640 03 71 - this is the rear tail light panel
110 640 00 60 - this is the panel making up the back of the rear seats, parcel shelf, bottom of rear windscreen and rear cowl.

Mercedes Benz New Zealand says both of these are NLA, am waiting to hear back from Niemoller and dbdepot to see if they have anything. Thought I'd ask here because you never know....
I'm in Auckland, New Zealand if that matters.

Cheers,
Evan

Although I have a finnie, I cannot help you on your question.

I dealt with DBdepot in the past. He is quite resourceful.

You should get in contact with Harry, who is also in kiwiland and restored his finnie from the ground up.

Do a search in the W111 subforum and you will find his exploits - all 20 pages of it.

He has a rotisserie, maybe you need it!

This may help with the rear light panel, it's on German ebay site.

As the panel behind the seat isn't seen, consider having a sheet metal or body shop making it up, same as Harryskater did with his - see the sticky post in this forum.

All the best
1998 W210 E240 - yawn, but like a tank
1969 Fiat 124 sport coupe - sold it...bit sad but onwards and upwards
2000 Mk4 VW Golf GTi - the german's should be ashamed - SOLD, no love lost there
1965 W111 coupe 220seb
1998 BMW M3 - interim car until the coupe is back, bit of a rocket to boot - SOLD, cant help but think I'm going to regret selling that one
2003 Porsche 911 - had to see what all the fuss was about

Saw that one on eBay, unfortunately it is for a coupe/convertible. When you Google the part number one from eBay France/Spain pops up from about 12 months ago but unfortunately that guy sold it to someone else.

Think it's going to come down to making appropriate panels.

Hi Evan, did you make any headway on this issue? I know a guy looking for the same panel.

Hi, which panel is That? The tail light one?
Haven't made any headway, I think you could get them from Mercedes circa 6 months ago? I'm positive I saw them on the Niemoller site for about 1200 euro a pop.

Car is currently at the panel beaters now, going to drop by there in a couple of days and see what they think about fixing what I already have

Not sure where you are Evan, but this guy is trying to fix up a finnie LWB for a customer:
https://www.facebook.com/pg/mofocustomz ... e_internal
You can see he is a talented fabricator, he was looking to see what panels were already available though. One of them was that rear panel between the tail lights. It is a bit of a worry for us if MB have run out of those, given the number of rear enders that happen in traffic...
Perhaps mofo could make 2 if they are NLA?
Cheers,
Drew
