Main lights - what bulbs?

Post by zohar » Fri 20 Oct, 2017 9:17 pm

Hi ,
I am replacing the original flat light fixtures that are on my 1974 280 with a pair of curved lights from a 1969 250C

The newer lights use a pretty standard H4 bulb , but the older lights use a different bulb - a p45t base bulb ?
I tried to use an adapter ring I bought online but the baroque locking mechanism would not fit.

Has anyone have this issue? What specific bulbs do people use on the older W114 models?

I bought some Halogen lights with the same base as the original globe.

Have a look here: ... ght-60-55W

These are cheap but in Germany, however your local autoparts store should be able to get these too.
I bought some at Auto One.
