Brake pads on a W245 and W164

Post by Ivanerrol » Mon 16 Nov, 2009 10:44 am

Am about to change brake pads on a W245 B class. and a ML 164 350.
Haven't looked at the cars yet.
Any tricks in doing this? Or are they straight forward changeover?

Both straight forward, no SBC brakes on those models. Only word of caution is to use OE pad especially on the rear of the ML... and don't forget to order sensors.

Did these jobs this morning - easy peasy.

Only comment on B class brakes. One pad was worn right down into the sensor. All the other pads were only half way worn. Funny to see such a disparity. Only 25,Ks up on the speedo.

B class was 2007 B180 CDI - very overpriced for what you get. Very "plasticky". (J.A.C. - Just Another Car).
56 fuses in operation  . Jack and tool kit behind a panel behind one of the rear seats. Unless you have the hand book you will never find any of the compartments, tools or extras on the car.

ML was 2008 W164 280CDI. A big improvement over Series I and Series II M.L.'s
