transmission cooler plugged info

Post by hyjinx1 »

Ok after buying my w124 230e afew weeks ago i had a chance to have abit of look over it on the weekend and i found this...

After doing alittle research im seeing it would be the trans cooler line thats been plugged (please correct me if incorrect).
firstly why?
secondly does this model (unsure of gbox model) use a cooler? Could this be a different radiator and its not required.
thirdly why?

Just trying to find out whats been played with over the years to see whats needed. Any help would be great

cheers

That looks like the radiator drain pipe has been modified.

The transmission cooler lines are on the same side of the car (drivers) one near top of radiator the other near the bottom.
