around australia registration prices

Post by pina4greg »

Just recently paid my 12 month vehicle registration here in WA. For my W140 300se was $851.00. Goes on engine size and weight so the old girl is a little heavier than the average car.
What are other members paying around Australia??

not that i have had one but red light camera - $500 bill in the mail plus demerits I understand. And not judging that it is not a bad thing to run lights but i understand cheaper elsewhere.

And SA has finally seen the light and returned to 30 years for club rego but failed to take the opportunity to align with the federal laws for import of 25 years and progressive Victoria! Can't complain too much, at least they worked out the 1978 wasn't the magic year when cars were either historic or not!! only a couple of years before the 1989 560 rego fee drops.

Not necessarily time, but the regs have changed slightly and if you read into it there are more opportunities now.
For me I can travel 400kms to attend a Club meeting in Perth or invite others to my more local events. I have to notify the Club of my intentions and if they sanctify it, I have to carry the documentation with me. Similar, but different, to a 48 hour permit.
As the car is not a daily nor weekly, my interest is primarily track days at Collie Motorplex and the odd Barbagallo stint.

I recall years ago when i was involved with AHMF, i think it was Cadillac/ lasalle club had a system within the club where they could nominate an 'event' at very short notice (eg. suns out tomorrow and want to go for a drive) and that would automatically go out to all club members and also Motor reg. This then qualified as an event and I dont think it was reliant on anyone else joining the drive. A few years ago now and i might have some of that confused but seemed like a good idea to me.
