Sunroof Opens , but will not close!

Hello all

The sunroof on my 1999 E430 will open to allow the beautiful sunshine and fresh air in!

But the thing will not close to stop the rain and bird poo out!!!

Have to manually close it with that emergency tool thing!!

Any suggestions as to what it might be?

Roof may require re synch

While the roof is in the open position push the switch up and hold for 6 or 7 seconds.

Tried your advice today , and it worked!!!! Than you got the handy hint!!!

There's another way of doing it - works sometimes.

When locking the car with the remote, hold the remote lock button down for 5 - 6 seconds. The roof should close and resynch.

The remote feature also works with open windows.
if you forget to close the windows, holding the remote lock button down for 3 -4 seconds will start to close the windows - and the roof.

W220's also require resynching after changing the battery.
