W210 Cabin air blower motor

Post by 230EW123er »

On my recently purchased '98 E320 the cabin air blower motor seems to come on (and stay on) with ignition key in position2; with fan speed control at zero and with engine on or off.
Fan speed control works, varies strength of the air output into cabin, however when it's turned to zero blower motor is still active (as if in speed position 1).
Air con works fine as does heater... I just can't turn the blower off, except for deactivating ignition.
Can anyone advise? Is this the infamous blower motor/regulator issue i have read about elsewhere?
If it is it seems to be a very common fault.
Does MB spares carry regulators that apply to this model without the apparent "modification" (pins/ blower motor base etc) ?
Desperate for answers
Many Thanks

I encounter problem with my blower regulator too. I had done some research and found that it can be replace with W140 regulator.
