R129 Hardtop - Anyone need one?

Post by redgear »

Hi,

I have finally decided to "let go" of the last remaining vestige of my beautiful red 1997 SL500 - the hardtop.

(It was written off in a Bolte Bridge concertina accident in 2013.) Interestingly, the car must have only been an economic write-off as it has turned up for sale, repaired but with a colour coded dashbaord, heavily tinted windows and what looks like 25inch wheels..

But back to the hard-top.....It is in great condition and I have put an advert on Gumtree in case anyone is pulling their hair out looking for a hardtop!

Here is a link to the advert in Gumtree

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/moorabb ... 1145899407

I am somewhat negotiable on the price - It would be good to see it go to a good home,

Re: R129 Hardtop - Compatibility question?

This is a question about the backward compatibility of a 1997 hard=top with a 1993 year model SL500.
Does anyone know if there are differences between the hardtops that came with the various year models?

Any knowledgeable input greatly appreciated!

Hardtop sold and gone last weekend - Apparently the hardtops are compatible across the R129 model range

If I just talk to myself on this forum, does it mean I am going insane??
