Last weekend there was a Guinness world record set in Germany. Close to 500 w123’s meet to break the previous record that was held in the Netherlands a few years ago. There are a few videos and news articles floating around but here is a link to one,

What a great video - I would not have though Germany could have stumped up 500 oldtimers in such pristine, rust free condition - Would have been good to get some shots of the more odd ball varieties .....

I recon that on a "per capita" basis we could beat that.

24.13 million divided by 82.67 million is 29.19

29.19 percent of 462 is 134.85 W123's, easy.

I have two and will list them here, lets see how many are on OZBENZ, copy and paste the list into your post.

1 300TD 4spd manual
2 300D auto, RSA production
Inaugural OZBENZ national meet this September, all welcome to attend. https://ozbenz.net/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=25165

Sorry, My last W123 has left for Brisbane.
Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy.

'83 W123 300D 325000km (Wife's car Josephine - sold).
'84 W123 300D replaced good OM617 912 with OM617 952 and enjoyed having good acceleration for the first time since first driving a 300D in 2002 - became engine and trans donor for 300CD Turbodiesel conversion. Now parted out.
'86 W124 300D sold (Wife's old car - sold )
'85 W123 300CD, 275 000km (Fatmobile) rebuilt turbodiesel from previous Fatmobile transplanted into 280CE (SOLD)
'99 W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my darling Wife's car - Sold)
'98 W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my car - Sold)
'06 Ssanyong Musso Crew Cab 2WD Ute (OM662 diesel and Auto Transmission)

I think that's a completely unfair comparison between Australia and Germany. I strongly recommend - this is THE truth - that we compare areas, i. e.

Australia: 7,692,000 km²
Germany: 357,376 km², 4.6% of it

So the calculation is 462 / 4.6%, so you still have 9944-10 = 9934 cars to go. That means, that every 2,427th inhabitant of Australia needs a W123 :laughing6: :laughing6:

Regards
Thomas
