For those who don't get the CAMS Speed Read bulletins, they have alerted us to a driver ed program run by the Day of Difference foundation. The aim is to make the road safer for our kids.
Lexus and the Blacktown Police are involved in the day, which gives the opportunity for young drivers to experience skidpan and racetrack environments. The cost is $275 and includes lunch.
Notice is short, with the day being held on Monday June 15th, and bookings are required by Monday June 8th, so be quick

This was brought to my attention by Lloyd Kelly from the BMW Club NSW / Motorsport area.. he also said this:
Driver ed for our younger drivers is an initiative we hope to embrace further in the future by offering Club events aimed at young and novice drivers specifically. This will include skid pan events and introduction-to-motorsport days. Experienced motorsport participants are encouraged to join in this process by providing instruction, along the lines of the driver training sessions we hold on our supersprint days. The emphasis would be on control and smoothness rather than speed. Those of you with children interested in the sport, or just beginning their driving life, may be interested in helping us out. Please be forthcoming with your comments or ideas, and if possible offer your time and experience to help make these days happen.
For the record, It's great to see clubs doing this for younger drivers and aiming at education, not purely going out there to thrash a car....
It's a pity that no MB clubs around the country jump on-board for track days / motorpsport.
This is the place to post event details of anything that isn't officially sanctioned by a Club. For club events or affiliated events for members of a particular club (e.g. MB ACT club) please post the event details in the members sections below
