Some good customers of ours are entering an old W123 300D in the "Shitbox" rally. As a fund raiser they are running this event..

After watching that Top Gear episode where James May drove that W123 230e across the Botswana desert, a trip across Australia in a 300d should be a doddle.

Great event, I've been following this for the last couple years now, the website is a very entertaining read!

Although I'm not 100% on the idea of labelling a W123 as a 'shitbox' :snooty: but the 300D should absolutely eat it up - perfect car for something like this (so hopefully they'll be able to sit back in comfort and enjoy the scenery instead of having to worry about what's going to break next!) - who knows, we'll probably see it on an episode of 'bush mechanics' in 15 years time...
