Honda no filter

Post by TheMadRacoon » Thu 11 May, 2017 10:41 am

Just found out that a still current model Honda CRV doesn't have an automatic transmission fluid filter. Hmmm. Maybe it has a swirl pot like a 5cyl Land Rover diesel has for engine oil !?

1st fluid replacement is around 100K km (maybe 120K km, can't recall right now). That's two things that just lowered my confidence. Changing fluid at 50K km anyway.

It's my wife's, in case you're wondering....
1975 350SLC Astral Silver (725) / Blue (2012, 284,900 km - present.... a real Benz, getting better and better)
1988 190E Deep Blue (900) / Cream (2006, 190,000 km - 2007, ~ 215,000 km .... FSH and still spent big $$$)
1974 280E Reed Green (860) / Bone (1993, 316,700 km - 2004, ~490,000 km and still A1)

B.I.L.recently bought a 2010 Honda Accord V6 with the lot from a well known Queensland Honda dealer. Had just on 80,000k's on it.
80,000K service had not been done - sales turkey told him it wouldn't be much.
B.I.L. thought he bought the car for a good price.

80,000 service - $3,300.00 :bs: - and you thought MB service costs are steep.

So much for the good deal.
