They weren't that expensive new.

Back in the day. the whole point of buying one of those Falcon G.T.'s was for the power. Why would you put an energy sapping expensive Air Con unit on a muscle car?
Aftermarket AC units were in the region of $500.00 plus - so an expensive addition.

The "luxury" muscle car was the HG GTS 350 with AC. It was hampered by the power suck - 10% or more of the AC plus a two speed auto transmission.

The photo is from new Zealand where the cost was twice as much as OZ. new cars were rare but i remeber these taxis sitting in car lots at the back and Various American malaise cars such as V6 Camaros ,Firebirds etc sitting out front. For years they weren't worth much ,still aren't actually but people will pay a lot for them.

Just like the gullwing - isn't worth 'much' but commands astronomically stupid money.

Could say the same for 560SL r107's at the moment....

I guess the market will continue to dictate...

"Worth" is a fascinating concept. We often hear that someone is "worth" so many millions of dollars.
Q...because Gina Swineheart has $10 billion does that mean that she is "worth" that much.
A litre of water costs very little but to a thirsty person lost in a desert it's value is immeasurable.
It is "utility" which defines both worth and value.
Perhaps we should substitute "cost" for "worth" and even "value".
This being simply the price which someone is prepared to pay for an object and which does not relate to it's actual worth.
now my brain hurts.

Just realised that this shot is so old, it shows the suspension shop in what is not our workshop. Would be around 1999.
