Smart key..

Post by rockabillychuck » Fri 29 Dec, 2006 3:26 am

Hi all,

I have just purchased an E320 and am wondering if anyone knows the best way to get a spare smart key? I have seen many on ebay but I want to be sure that they can be programed. There is no info on the net that I can find on this. Its a 97 E320 W210. I have been very pleased with this car so far. We took it down the coast the day we got it and it was a dream to drive.

Cheers,
Charlie.

Charlie: Welcome to the Friendly Forum (well, friendly to all but spammers)! :D

Can't knowledgeably answer your question, by my bet is on the forum sponsor, John Green / MB Spares and Service, in Fyshwick ACT - quite handy for you, no doubt.

Thanks OzBenzHead! Just spoke to John and the boys today about this. It turns out that I have to order one. They boys at MB spares were unsure about programing a new key. A friend in Austria is going to try and find out. I'd like to try and sort this out myself as a new key costs $200 - $400.
My rear window would not close but John is going to fix it up next week. I got my E320 from John and the boys at MB spares, they know their stuff. I actually got this Benz for my wife, I will let her drive it one day.

Cheers,
Charlie Tizzard.
