W202 Electrical Gremlins

Post by Tenorite_320 » Mon 24 Jul, 2017 10:43 pm

My C280 Sport (1998 update model) has a curious problem with the LH exterior mirror adjustment and LH front electric window both not working - if I disconnect the battery and wait for a minute or so before reconnecting, both the mirror adjustment and window functions return briefly before failing again shortly thereafter. I assume the process of disconnecting the battery clears a fault code in a computer module somewhere but I am unsure where to start looking for a solution. Unfortunately, I do not have access to electrical diagnostic gear but one suggestion from my online research is a SAM module? Has anyone experienced this (or a similar) problem and can suggest a remedy? Thanks!

I would suspect the door control module. If you hook it up to a Star Diagnosis system, it should log a fault code.
