ha ha, that belongs to a mate of mine ... it's a real hash up f different models but it started life as 220 cabriolet,i think it has a 289 Engine in it. He only bought it because it's almost rust free. a rarity in Ireland..

Sedan tail lights on that confuse my brain.

Looks like the chrome surrounds of the lights have been painted silver as well.

Please tell me that the top photo isn't the actual car that ended up as in the bottom photo (or that the bottom photo is one of the same models). The top photo is not just any series 3 W124, but an E500. Anyone who does that to an E500 deserves to have a plastic surgeon modify them in a similar fashion.

Well, not the actual car no, as top example is RHD as opposed to the poor thing below which is LHD, so one can only hope that the below one was simply an average W124.

I was about to say, so it is and therefore it can't be an E500 (since the 500E & E500 were only made in LHD), but then I noticed the fuel filler flap... on the wrong side. Obviously the top photo has been mirror imaged and it is in fact LHD. My reasons for saying E500 are the flared and rounded wheel arches, EvoII wheels, and foglights relocated to the front apron (their former position in the headlights are occupied by additional high beams in the 500E & E500).

Funnily enough a good mate in the USA has been sending W126 US headlight sets to buyers in Australia via ebay. Not only are the headlights only available in LHD configuration, this makes them illegal and down right inconsiderate to other road users.

Apparently we would struggle to find another Merc in Australia so modified. Good, that tells me that there is a limited number of people in Australia with more money than sense. And as for the grill extensions. Why would people want to make their cars look like railway engines from the wild west. remember the westerns? All the trins had these cow-catchers on the front. That's just what these grills remind me of.

Seriously the funniest show made in ages./quote]

Amen! Such an awesome show with the most hilarious and messed up situations and characters! The new series drops soon, it may have even already happened in the last couple of days. Yessssss...

If Noddy (see Noddy below with his convertible) owned a Mercedes Benz - that's what it would look like.

However, it has much more style than the "US front" W126's. :evil5:
