Pulling and flushing an SLC fuel tank

Hi All,

Does anyone have any info, links or advice regarding the procedure for pulling an 1979 450SLC fuel tank. I’m about to replace my fuel pump and external filter but I’m thinking that old fuel in the system when I purchased the car is probably why the fuel pump was cactus after my first decent drive. Before that it was on its way out but is now shocking. Seems pointless to replace the external pump and filter without doing the internal screen and flushing the tank first.
