Steep learning curve 107 024...

Post by NZJasonT » Sat 05 May, 2018 5:02 pm

Hi everyone,

My first post to this section as i’ve just bought a 73 W107 450SLC

I’m lucky enough to own a 71 W108 2.8 which i’ve spent the last 6 years caring for and learning about, but after my first day tinkering with the coupe I’ve realised just how different this car is!

Vacuum buttons, electric windows (that get stuck at the back) and the huge 117 V8! clearly i’ve got lots to learn, so i’m going to enjoy reading this section over the next few weeks.

My first question for the forum members is about repair panels - In order to get his car back on the road I have to deal with the rust - I need front passenger floor and rear boot floor panels and i’ve found some online including kkmfg.com and MCstarparts.com.au who lists some (possibly the same? and very helpful) has anyone tried either of these and care to share some feedback on quality, fitment, value etc? I’ve not tried the forum sponsor yet, I’ll try them on Monday too see if they have any

Thanks everyone

Jason in Auckland, NZ

I generally make my own rust panels for the Floors and firewall . Where ever there is steel in a `07 there is rust.
