trigger point connections

Post by doug350 » Sat 18 Mar, 2017 1:01 pm

Hi everyone I have a problem in as much as I am trying to find the colour coding of the wires that go onto the connection block for the trigger points.

I had a couple of wires came off , I resoldered them but could possible have crossed one or two.

If I could find wiring diagram with colur code both sides of connection block would be good.

Thanks in advance for any help.

In the Reference Library there's a post on D-Jet (the 2nd one) which includes a zip file of schematics. Not certain, but it might have what you want.

I'm looking at a printed electrical schematic for the 1974 450SL/SLC.
(I haven't cross-checked with my engine as am busy with another task this evening and this is a rest break.)

The schematic shows 4 wires from the "impulse trigger (mounted in lower part of distributor)":
#1 = yl/rd
#3 = yl/gn
#4 = yl/bu
#6 = yl/wt

Hope the colours and the number match up on the connector.

#2 = yl/bk
#3 = yl/gn
#4 = yl/bu
#6 = yl/wt

To get to the Reference Library.... Click "Board Index" under the OzBenz banner at the top of the page, then in when the page refreshes look down to the third frame, titled "Reference Library"
