When I win the Lotto...

Post by Mercmad » Thu 22 May, 2014 7:25 am

I have read about this car on sites such as Benz World ...where it had sat in the USA for a while while the dealer/owner tinkered with it. But...I would love it as an example of a well used and loved 300SL.

The stories that car could tell and the places it has been. Awesome!

Ron. It would need to be an outright, first division win. A share win or second division might not cut it,

Yes, a nice Gullwing, but these cars are getting so passé - most of my friends have one.

Now, if you want a fancy car then that XK Jag on the same site is going to be hard to walk past:

A nice restrained colour scheme, and an altimeter (!) in case you start wondering why the engine is spluttering up the hill.

Sure, It LOOKS good, but really, we just don't know for sure how it's been treated...

The 300SL owners are a great bunch, most use their roadsters as intended and treat dents and oil smoke as badges of honour... :laughing6:
It is only the monied classes who buy gullwings at 7 figure sums who won't drive their 'Investments" . (although the black alloy bodied tragedy was an exception)
