M108 engine water pump housing tech question

Post by Coralpolyp » Wed 20 Dec, 2017 9:37 pm

Am putting a 250S engine together and I noticed the parts book shows a seal or washer of some type sandwiched between the rear of the water pump housing and the block, at the upper bolt hole. Can anyone advise on the nature of the washer or seal?

hopefully you get a response - it is the sort of question that Mercmad or John Green most likely to know. I have one of those motors sitting in a car if it is something you can see from the outside.

I have the parts book on hand for the 250S normally there is a cross reference for the pictureso ( It shows #35 in the book for the washer) so I''ll have a look later when I'm on the EPC for a description >
