this is the sort of car that will pull the chicks
Ignoring the fact that "chick" is slang for a prostitute, I'm not quite sure what types of ladies would be impressed with a beaten up Mercedes that is worth about $100 as a parts car.

Morning all,
It is a very sad car indeed, but could be good value if you were looking for manual gearbox clutch flywheel etc.
Happy Australia Day Weekend, don`t we live in a great place?

OK, so I am typing a question to himn on the ebay message system that reads:

" What sort of carby is it mate? Should be a webber right? Might buy it for the carby"

Then realised that would look real stupid coming from my ebay account

http://members.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI ... cdiscounts

Anyone else want to stir him up??

Tony: I eagerly await your question's appearance - and the vendor's reply - on the advert. :D :D

I read the guy's other two ads - the HZ one-tonner and the old "little old lady's car" Crown.

Sheesh - he's a prize one, ain't he!

You guys are mean. He even went to the trouble of taking a nice photo of the "carb".

Does anyone want to suggest that he could get more performance out of the engine if he removes all the "pollution control" pipes? They're those thin metal pipes coming out of the "carb" aren't they??

I now realise how good W123's look with XF falcon standard steel rims. I'm going to the wreckers to buy some as soon as I change the spark plugs on the 300D....

No no no, ask him what make the carby is. Then ask him whether it will fit on the HZ motor.

I was going to tell him that that model with that carb was very rare and if he sold it privately he could make a few grand. However you have to have an ebay account to email him and I must be the olny person in aust without an ebay account.

Well, You have all seen the added photo of the "really big carb".
I haven't the heart to tell him.

Some people should do some research on their vehicles before posting them on eBay.

I did tell him in the nicest way that he was dealing with fuel injection.
His reply "I am a Ford and Holden man, I know nothing about merks"

Needless to say, I did not bid on the wreck.

from a fello ebayer

Chriss,
You are mistaken, this is a fuel injection system. I just checked your listing, in your photos, the one of thre back of the car, I can make out "280E" - the E is for Einjection or something like it in German.

i lernt somthing new today about merks

happy bidding
