My fan started intermittently switching off , now will only make a pretty bad grinding noise.
I have a 1990 300CE -24 and not sure which is the correct replacement (with or without cabin filter) or the best place to source.
Any assistance appreciated.

My first port of call is to phone Mercedes Australia Spare Parts.
Armed with your VIN they will be able to tell you the correct Part No and availability / price.
Then you can hunt around

Thanks for your reply.
Actually removed existing fan obtained Bosch part number 0130111011 and managed to get one from a wrecker for $110. Mercedes price was approx $1300 . Aftermarket approx AUD$200 after shipping.

Just a suggestion,
Trouble with a second hand one is the brushes will be just as worn and it may not last long .... You can replace the brushes for around $10.
