W123 Mechanic Central Coast NSW?

Post by DieselJames »

Hi Everyone,

Long time since I've been on here and it's been great reading recent posts.

Can anyone recommend a mechanic on the NSW Central Coast who is familiar with W123s?

Long story short, there's a project grade 300TD that has some issues that I don't have the time to investigate. I'm hoping for someone to have a look at it and diagnoses the problems, then I can do the actual work.

Between work, kids and social commitments I'd rather spend the small amount of time I can negotiate to travel from Sydney to Gosford to actually work on the car rather than faff about with troubleshooting problems etc

Thanks in advance!

James

Hi James

I don't know anyone on the Central Coast who could help you.
There are fewer and fewer who are familiar with W123s and they are mostly on the wrong side of the bridge in Sydney for you.
I remember there was one in Hornsby or thereabouts but have never used them myself.
Lingane Motors, but like many, I think he has retired...

If your TD is drivable, could you bring it to Sydney to get it checked out?

Yep, Derek retired about 5 years ago. The business was taken over by some of his staff, but I think they are now just a general European shop?
