Diesel starter motor for 300TD

Hi.

Sorry for the cross posting with the WTB forum, but I think there is more views here.

I am after either a starter motor for my 1981 W123 300TD with the OM617, or a place that knows how to rebuild mine.

I live on the nsw far south coast. I removed the starter and took it to my local Bosch service and repair agent, however after several weeks he returned it say it could not be repaired, that he could not source parts anyhow and that he could not find a new starter for sale.

Would anyone have any leads? I can pay for postage/courier costs on top the starter. I pretty stuck with my wagon sitting on blocks in the shed for months now.

I don’t have access to the EPC at the moment, do you have the number?
In case you don’t find anything in Oz, I might help you in Germany. Andreas here has a motor that „should“ fit:

Edit: you have to check, if the starter motor for RHD is different; I know the M117 has it on the other side

FWIW, Adrian, there's a bloke called Volke just out of Bateman's Bay, who (8-10 years ago) was a Benz mechanic. You could try him on 44729288. I guess by now you have sorted out the starter issue.
