He's definitely trying to be a bit more serious about this car than other cars he buys. Absolutely love mine - I know it's no cabriolet worth ten times as much, but they are really a relatively simple, beautiful car.
They are still relatively affordable in the US too.

Hoovie normally buys the cheapest "interesting" car he can find.
Does it up and then flips it. Makes money on the Youtube views documenting the process of buying, fixing and then flipping.

He did mention that he's been looking for a V8 W108 for quite a while but was after a good example.
He's had lots of Benz's. Two weeks ago he bought a W123 300d in deplorable condition.

Shows the power of Youtube and amateur "Influencers" .
Hoovie went from a failed used car salesman to a multimillionaire in just 4 years due to his channel.
Flow on effect. His mechanic - The Car Wizard - went from a back yard garage to a huge operation fixing Hoovies Hooptie fleet.

Interesting what he did say. : W108 Cab = $200,000. W108 4 door = $10,000. Well sorted W123 and W126 diesels are in excess of $25,000 to $30,000

And the cost to fix all the issues with that W208 is less than the cost to fix the airbag suspension leak on my W212.
Certainly less than the $5,000 charge required to fix the radar sensor on the W213
