My R230 (SL63 6.3L) is about to be written off by Insurers. Had a small fire in the fuse box behind the drivers seat and a passer used a fire extinguisher to put it out. Not damage other than burn marks in the fuse box. Very disappointed as this is a great car and wanted to keep it for a long time. 79,000 km's, black. Insurers think it's only worth $ 80,300. Can't find any data to argue to the point.

I always thought that the insurer would repair the car if the damage is less than the day value?
I just had my old 06 Ford Focus repaired - 2000 aud damage through someone that let his Ute roll into me (he was not in it) at the fuel station...
